Tutorial No.2 - HelloPurr

This week we were introduced to MIT App Inventor, we were shown how to set up an account. This website was extremely interesting as I did not know such things were available online for free. We know that using this website would be of great use to us in the future as we have to design and produce an app as part of our assessment for this module.
Our first task was to make a functioning ‘HelloPurr’ app, the steps we took are as follows:
·       Titling the project ‘HelloPurr’.
·       We then downloaded an image of a cat and attached this to screen one of the app.
·       We also downloaded a sound file which would allow the cat to meow on clicking.
·       We were introduced to the block section, which would allow the cat to function (meow).
o   This was extremely interesting as it was all very new to me.
·       The function buttons were installed and thus allowed the app to be successful.

Overall, the project was successful after numerous test tries on an emulator app which we downloaded.
